Shane has lived in Arlie Beach for over 35 years and knows the importance of respecting the environment around him.
He has an impressive Scuba Diving history spanning over 3 decades and operated a Live-aboard dive boat out into the remote Coral Sea atolls and the Great Barrier Reef and various Southern Queensland locations. He has logged over 3000 dives and escorted international photo journalists for many years from Australia & Overseas, learning from the best in the underwater photography field.
Shane also doubles as a creator and screenwriter; he is the visionary behind the Undersea Oddysea universe — an original slate of animated feature films inspired by the natural world.
With over 35 years of underwater exploration and photography on the Great Barrier Reef, Shane has built an internationally recognised body of work capturing the scale, beauty, and emotion of ocean environments.
From Ocean Depths to the Big Screen
Expanding into screen storytelling, Shane has developed the Undersea Oddysea universe as a cinematic slate of feature animation projects grounded in authenticity, adventure, and emotional storytelling. His flagship titles include Wally & Bob: An Undersea Oddysea and Little Harvey: An Undersea Oddysea, both set within the Great Barrier Reef and designed as premium, franchise-driven animated features.
Broadening the scope of the slate, Shane has also created Bella & Anouk, an original animated feature set in the polar regions, following the unlikely friendship between a beluga whale and a polar bear cub. The project expands the Undersea Oddysea universe beyond the reef into new global environments while maintaining its core themes of connection, survival, and the natural world.
Shane’s work is defined by a rare combination of real-world environmental experience and cinematic vision. His focus is on building a globally recognised animated IP that blends spectacle with meaning — creating stories that resonate emotionally while fostering a deeper connection to the planet.
He is currently advancing multiple feature screenplays and pursuing production partnerships, co-production opportunities, and development pathways to bring the Undersea Oddysea universe to an international audience.
